Ways to Assist

 

OFFICE STAFF:

• Work as a volunteer

• Fund Raising

• Secretarial

• Mailings

• Marketing

 

TEAM COACH:

• Work with students during homework time, rotations, and skills

• Passion for children

• Commitment 3 or more hours per week

 

MENTORING:

• Work one on one with child, builds relationships with child and family

• Time is determined between mentor and child’s family

• Commitment – 1 hours per week/year commitment

 

CREATIVE ARTS:

• Present/prepare creative art activity

• Dance, music, drama, art

• Commitment – 2 hours, to be determined either weekly or monthly

 

RECREATION/SPORTS:

• Work with children to provide constructive activities – sports, games, team building

• Prepare session, could be speaker

• Commitment – 2 or more hours monthly

 

READING SPECIALIST:

• Work one on one with child or a group of students, help with reading assessment

• Help with preparation of reading lab

• Commitment – 2 or more hours monthly

 

LIFE SKILLS COACH:

• Work with students in teaching life skills: cooking, personal hygiene, laundry, cleaning

• Present like skill lesson in small group setting

• Commitment – 2 or more hours monthly

 

COMPUTER LAB:

• Lead students in learning activities using computers – math, reading, STEM, other

• Prepare learning time

• Commitment – 2 or more hours monthly

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Passion for children (experience preferred)

• 18 years or older (16 yrs with experience and references)

• Structured, balanced between tasks and relationships

• Applications available (criminal background required)
